Architectural Application Guidelines

Deadlines:

The Architectural Committee reviews applications every third Wednesday of the month.  All Architectural Applications must be submitted by 9:00pm the Sunday before the scheduled meeting.

Plot Plans:

Plot plans may be obtained at City & County Department of Planning and Permitting at (808) 523-4414.

Fees:

The fee structure became effective on April 15, 1990.  The fee applies to the following modifications being submitted to the Architectural Committee for review.

No Fee Required:

  • Garage Door (Replacement)
  • Painting
  • Re-Roof
  • Siding
  • Solar Unit (New)
  • Solar Unit (Replacement)

$25 Fee Required

  • AC Units
  • Additions
  • Concrete Slab Walkways
  • Extensions
  • Enclosures
  • Fence
  • Front Door (Replacement)
  • Garage Door (New)
  • Gazebo
  • Green/Hot House
  • Landscaping
  • Retaining Wall
  • Satellite Dish
  • Storage Shed
  • Swimming Pool
  • Windows
  • Window Tinting

$1000 Fee Required

  • Building a new home

These Fees are to be paid upon submittal of the application.  Applications will not be accepted without payment.

Architectural Application Checklist:

  • Architectural Application Form filled out
  • Paint swatch colors
  • Plot plans two (2) copies- with drawings, measurements
  • Walls / Fencing: color and measurements (width, height and spacing between slates)
  • Brochure of products (windows, garage door, front door, solar unit, fencing material, satellite dish, etc.)
  • Three (3) photos of residence – areas to be modified
  • Architectural Fee – when applicable

PLEASE NOTE:  Once an Architectural Application has been approved, permits MUST be picked up before conducting the construction and/or modification of the project.  Furthermore, to prevent permit from being null or void, project must commence within ninety (90) days of the approval date.
